Making sure clock-ins happen at work, by the right person

Clocking in for a friend, or from the car park down the road, quietly adds up. Orbis Shift Operations adds checks that make each clock-in something you can rely on.

The problem

Why this is hard without the right tool

A simple clock-in button cannot tell where someone is or whether it is really them. Disputes then come down to one person's word against another's.

How Orbis Shift helps

Step by step

This use case uses Orbis Shift Operations, the add-on to Orbis Shift Core.

  1. 1

    Set each venue's location

Add the venue's position and a radius. Clock-ins are checked against it and recorded as inside or outside.

  2. 2

Use a shared kiosk if you prefer

Set up a tablet as a kiosk where staff clock in with their own PIN, with lockout after repeated wrong PINs.

  3. 3

Add a photo check where it matters

Optionally capture a photo at clock-in, kept only for the retention period you choose.

  4. 4

    Review exceptions, not every entry

Late starts, early finishes and out-of-area clock-ins are listed as exceptions for a manager to review.
